Hogle Zoo

Well, our family decided to brave the zoo on a pretty hot day up in Utah. It was kind of a let down though, they didn't have any lions, polar bears, or water animals. Mady's favorite animal was the giant diamondback rattlesnakes, and Cade, who knows?! He pretty much was mellow the whole time. Actually I think Cade's favorite part was the carousel ride, go figure! It was still a lot of fun just spending time with the family. Next time we are planning on going to the zoo in Albuquerque. Mady still remembers when she got to feed the giraffes.

Fun With the Fam In Utah

We had a blast with the family in Utah. It was one party after another.

We went swimming and Mady along with her cousin, Delanie were trying to show us how they can hula-hoop. It was a riot.

We ended our long vacation up at Bear Lake. Brice was able to fly up on the 23rd and go to the Coffin Family Reunion with us. It was so much fun. We went to the lake every day and soaked up lots of rays. Activities on the beach were always interesting and fun, from wiffle ball, limbo, jumping contest, and dirt biking. It was the perfect vacation, only not long enough!

Happy 4th of July

We had a great 4th of July this year. Our family went camping up in Silverton, CO. We also went to Ouray and went hiking and to the hot springs. The kids got some serious air at the hot springs. I think everyone around us thought Brice was crazy for throwing the kids up that high, but they loved it. Cade only whacked his cousin Hannah in the face once with a sparkler, but who can blame him, look at the size of the sparkler. I know we weren't that fortunate (maybe just smart) as kids to have that massive of a sparkler. Luckily she wasn't injured! This was our first official camping trip as a family. I know, I'm bad when it comes to roughing it. Thank heavens, Sheree and Jason let us borrow an air mattress. Brice wanted to sleep on the ground under the stars. He said that we weren't really camping, but to me that is as rough as it gets (especially while I'm pregnant)!

2008 IBPO Mulit-Gun Champs

Congratulations Honey!!! Yes, we all know you have the big guns! Brice went away last weekend to one of the biggest 3 gun law enforcement competitions in the country and ended up taking 1st place. They competed against full-time SWAT teams and professionals, surprising everyone with a 1st Place finish. He walked away with a free pistol. Which he promised to give me half of the profit once he sells, j/k.

Bubba Gump's Kin or Collagen Gone Wrong? You Decide!

You're wrong! This is Cade after he has one of his allergic reactions. He had a handful of pine nuts and two minutes later his face was unrecognizable (Hitch). Poor kid, his lips looked like they were going to explode and he got hives all over his entire body. I took him to the Urgent Care just in time for him to throw-up all over the Dr.'s Office. The only thing he kept saying was, "I no want a shot!!!" He got out of the shot because he managed to get down the steroids and benadryl. Thank goodness. He is doing better after throwing-up one more time in the car. For anyone who wants to save money on Collagen Injections, just find out what your allergic to.

Who's afraid of warts?

These are some fun pictures our cute babysitter and her mom took of the kids out at their house. The kids always have a blast out there as well as having a new experience with nature. Mady found a horny toad near the house and maybe even some new warts to go along with it. Mom can't compete with the Bentley Bunch, from Pony rides, to kittens and rats, I'm sure our house seems pretty dull! I think Cade is torn though, he thinks mom is the coolest even if I don't have fun stuff at the house. He even enjoys me going to the bathroom, walking on the treadmill and anything else that I might be doing that is boring. Cheer up Cade, one of these days you'll probably be excited when you don't see Mom as much!

Let Summer Begin

Mady and Cade started swim lessons and soon they were over. We had 8 days of swimming which was a total blast. The kids loved every second of it. If you were to ask Mady about them, she'd say, "I never even took any breaks, like all the other kids." Which is spoken in true Darais fashion. We all know that Darais' get their money's worth. Just remember the family trips to Golden Corral. If your pockets weren't stuffed with Jelly Beans while leaving, something was wrong! Ha Ha! Well, maybe it's true for the Darais men. Cade was pleasant most of the days. He did have a few moments. His favorite part of the class was jumping off of the edge to mom or dad. My arms were burning by the end of the lessons from catching him and putting him back up on the edge. He's no lightweight, just look at the pictures of the "Silverback Gorilla" as we like to call him. If you ask Cade about swimming this is what he'll tell you, "I like hot wimen, and I like big wimen." Let me translate for you he likes the Hot Swimming (the hot tub) and the big swimming pool. All his teacher's got a kick out of his comment that he liked hot, big women! We had so much fun swimming over the two weeks we ended up buying a season pass. Too bad we have to drive 20 minutes there and back everyday. It eats up the gas!
